Beef satay over rice
Ingredients
  • 1 pound beef cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • ½ cup dry white wine or sake
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated fresh or frozen ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • Fresh ground pepper
Instructions
  1. Trim beef, cut into cubes and place in a shallow pan. Whisk together the marinade ingredients and pour over the beef. Cover, refrigerate, and allow to marinate for 1 hour or longer.
  2. Remove from the marinade. Skewer with bamboo sticks (presoaked in water) or stainless steel. Cook on a hot grill, turning every 4 minutes or so, until done.
  3. Serve hot or at room temperature with peanut sauce for dipping.

Makes about 16 – 1-ounce skewers.
