Apple Cider Pressing Open House

September 29, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Its cider time again! Another day of apple cider pressing at the Correas’ on Saturday, September 29, and kids of all ages are invited to attend. This is an open house so come if and when you are able. The “official hours” are between 10AM to 6PM. If you have company visiting or friends who would enjoy pressing cider in good company, bring them. If you know you are coming please respond to this email so we have some idea of numbers, but if you change your mind and decide to come at the last minute, that’s ok too.

You can bring apples if you have a tree or access to one, but if not, we have some apples here that you are welcome to glean, but apples in general are not prolific this year in Maine. We are looking for apples in the neighborhood and are “sweating” several bushels on the porch. If you want to take some cider home (and we recommend you do) you will have to do some work, time on the press or maybe just cheer leading, so dress appropriately. We would also encourage you bring your own container or containers as it is difficult to take the cider home without one.
As an added treat, we have invited Nicole Grohoski to come and stump for her campaign in her run for house seat 132 representing Ellsworth and Trenton. I know Nicole from the Maine Master Naturalist program. She is smart, energetic, and hard working. If you don’t know her, check out her website: www.grohoski.mainecanidate.com. She is special!

There will be lots of tasty food to eat so bring an appetite along with your friends.
